An open call for the comms professionals we haven't met yet.

Communications is no longer just coverage. It's about building relevance, shaping narratives, and knowing when a story lands in a press release, and when it lands better somewhere else entirely. Brands that get this don't just want good writing. They want people who think.
If that's how your brain works, and you're building something of your own: Read on.
What this is
We're opnrs, a women-led independent boutique agency from Berlin. Nearly 13 years in, we work across Brand Communications, Corporate Communications, Creatives & Experiences, and Consultancy; for clients in Tech, Lifestyle, and Culture. Think Spotify, DeepL, TikTok, Vinted, Mollie, Faire.
We're not looking to hire. We're looking to connect.
As projects grow and pipelines fill, we're building a roster of emerging freelance communications professionals we trust. People at the start of their independent journey who want real work, real clients, and a team to collaborate with when it counts.
Who we're looking for
Junior to mid-level communications professionals who've gone independent, or are actively building that second leg. You've had your first meaningful stations: agency, in-house, or a strong mix of both. You know your way around a comms brief. And you're hungry for projects that are actually worth your time.
Specifically:
- A solid foundation in Brand Communications, Corporate Communications, or both
- Native-level German — essential. Strong English alongside it — standard.
- Comfort working across consumer and B2B/Tech contexts (or a clear appetite for one of the two)
- The ability to work independently without hand-holding, and collaboratively without ego
- An eye for what makes a story land, and what makes it disappear
If you're also bringing an existing network or media relationships: even better.
What working with us looks like
Project-based collaboration, scoped and briefed properly. You'll work alongside our senior leads, not below them in a hierarchy, but as an extension of the team where it makes sense. Clients are real, briefs are tight, and the work is visible.
We believe the best communications thinking comes from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We're continuously working to make opnrs more inclusive: In who we work with, and how.
Sounds like you?
Send us a short intro, your CV or portfolio, and a line or two on what you're building — to joinus@opnrs.com. No formal cover letter needed. Just tell and show us who you are and what you're good at.
