GetYourGuide

GetYourGuide is in the business of extraordinary experiences — connecting millions of travellers with the moments that make a trip worth remembering. Internally, the expectation is the same. When a company's entire product philosophy is built around the idea that experiences matter, the annual team event can't be an afterthought. It has to mean something.

GetYourGuide and Openers are working on this mission together since 2022 to produce their annual Summit Week — the highlight of the company calendar, where hundreds of employees come together but for a week that earns its place in the memory. The brief, consistent across every edition: make it feel like GetYourGuide. Playful, global, a little unexpected, and genuinely fun. Beside that we also realized the Unlocked Summit together twice to date.
What We Built
GYG Summit Week & Festival 2022-24

The 2022-24 editions took place at GetYourGuide's HQ in Berlin, Ampere. A yearly growing number of employees moved through a programme built for participation rather than observation with the grande finale happening on the last day of Summit Week: The Festival - featuring activations like an Exit Game, DIY workshops, and — in the spirit of a company that takes experiences seriously — the option to get a real tattoo (for the more cautious, sticker tattoos were standing by).

At 10pm, the festival shifted gears. Two fully equipped dancefloors opened up, and the night took over. Full F&B, an outdoor stage, a live band, and a room that stayed moving until the early hours. Concept, production, and look and feel — all handled end to end and all of the above created it what is a running office space  for the rest of the year. In 2024 we were at an external location for the first time and celebrated the Festival at Haubentaucher.

GYG Summit Week 2025 — GYG Festival at SAGE

For the fourth edition, the finale moved beyond the HQ. The GYG Festival took over SAGE, one of Berlin's most distinctive event spaces, for a night that expanded the format in every direction. Boat rides, tarot readings, and VR games filled the early evening — a programme designed to feel like a city within the city, each corner its own small experience. A grown tradition, the Urban Club Band, and a lineup of DJs handled the music, and the dancefloor did the rest.

GYG Summit Week 2026 — Colosseum & Festsaal Kreuzberg

The 2026 edition marked a significant step. For the first time, the Summit Week program moved beyond the familiar geography of Ampere — 1,000 employees gathered at the Colosseum Kino, one of Berlin's most iconic cultural venues, for an event that matched the scale of a company that had outgrown its own walls. The festival finale landed at Festsaal Kreuzberg, a venue with its own weight in music culture , and a night that felt proportionate to the occasion.

GYG Unlocked Summit 2024 & 2025

Alongside the internal Summit Week, GetYourGuide runs a second, entirely different format: the Unlocked Summit, their flagship customer event — and the largest of its kind in the company's global history. Where the Summit Week is built for the people inside GetYourGuide, Unlocked is built for the industry around it: CEOs and senior leaders from the world's leading travel companies, gathered to explore where online travel booking is heading and what AI means for the future of how people plan and experience travel.

We organised both the 2024 and 2025 editions while the second event set the tone from the moment guests arrived. Together with Berlin Cuisine, we developed a food concept rooted in Berlin's creative and urban identity: the city itself as a host. The summit closed with an evening that matched the ambition of the day — live 1920s music and dancers turning the day into something guests didn't see coming, and didn't forget.

What It Moved

Five years of Summit Weeks, two editions of Unlocked — and across all of it, the same underlying truth: GetYourGuide holds its internal culture to the same standard it sets for its product.

The Summit Week grew from 300 to 1.000 guests, from Ampere to Colosseum, from a festival tent to the Festsaal Kreuzberg — each edition larger and more ambitious than the previous. The Unlocked Summit, meanwhile, established GetYourGuide as a convener of the travel industry's most senior voices, with a format that combined serious content with a Berlin-native sense of occasion.

Two formats, two audiences, one consistent ambition: to produce events that feel exactly like the company behind them.
